Lytchfield Linkage Notes about the following Websites by Peter Lytchfield. Art H.R. Geiger is an old favorite of mine. The designer of the original "Alien" for the film of the same name. His intense airbrush work has been horrifying people since the early seventies. Bring on M.C. Escher(1898 - 1972) another old favorite, and an inspiration in my early years studying art. His creativity was way ahead of it's time, and unrivaled to date. Did Salvador Dali take mind expanding drugs? I'd guess, yes. That, or it's the drugs I took that make his artwork look like it was painted by someone who took drugs. I did not like impressionistic art when I was younger. It has grown on me for reasons I do not fully understand. Our bodies change, our minds change, the things we like change: some of this artist's works just reach deep into my soul, his name is Vincent Van Gogh. He died never knowing he would one day be as famous as he is now. He died insane, mailing people his ears and stuff. A very cool guy. Wildlife Art, I thought, had become quite boring until this one artist came around and made it interesting again. He's extraordinarily creative and his detail is quite noteworthy. He is Peter R. Gerbert. He is also an old friend of mine. Film Making John Carpenter opened my eyes very wide with his debut film "Halloween." He then went on to make some of my all time favorite films: "Escape From New York," "Prince of Darkness" and his remake of "The Thing." I am hoping someday he will discover my works and say to himself, "Hey. This might be the guy I need to design the creature for the remake of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon." Call me up John, will you?! If you don't I'll mail you one of my ears, damn it! James Cameron, one of the best motion picture directors around. I've been following his career for some time now. If a film comes out with his name somewhere in the ads, I am in line at the box office. If it's a really good movie effect, chances are it was pulled off by Industrial Light & Magic Stan Winston is a creature designer beyond words. He put the T-Rex in "Jurassic Park". He put the Mother Alien in "Aliens." He'll put some incredible creatures in many movies to come. Tom Savini Horror make up artist responsible for a great number of creeps, ghouls and other horrors. One of my favorite monsters is the one he designed for the episode called "The Crate" in Steven King's "CREEPSHOW." SlickShit Productions Official Website of this new film group made up of college punks. We may actually begin working on a film together soon. I am not a college punk. I will be in charge of the college punks, they just don't know it yet. This Website has been banned in eighty-three countries. Ray Harryhausen Long live Ray, man. The inventor of dinamation. A Website dedicated to the great creature designer, my strongest influence.
Don't look now, here comes The Horror Channel the first digital cable network dedicated to Horror; all day and all night. The network will launch in October 2005. writers Robert R. McCammon A very imaginative writer with many bestsellers to his credit including "Swan Song" and "The Wolf's Hour." For a real thrill, you have to read my favorite "They Thirst," a story about the overtaking of Los Angeles by vampires. He has a new two-volume paperback coming out in September /October called, "Speaks the Nightbird." Stephen King So much deep character development, so much horror, so much humor. The writer of so many horror novels. All good. Dean Koontz He writes so well, I think I would enjoy reading his grocery lists. I'll be glad when some good filmmakers start getting hold of his works. If you want to be scared out of your pants (or skirt) read "Winter Moon." That one had me looking out my windows before I went to bed. Not Your Typical Websites BADMOFKR.COM By golly, this here's some good old fashioned, badboy biker fun. Badmofkr happens to be another old friend of mine. His Website kicks ass. It will change the way you look at life. Site features some of my early artworks. Darkechoe Horror an interesting collection of horror writer links, horror links, and such. Music Ozric Tentacles I love Ozric, the only music I work to. Progressive, instrumental rock. Very consistently good. Not one bad song on any of their many albums. I cannot say that about any other band. Tool The best new band to come around in a long time. OK. So Tool doesn't have any bad songs either. But they only have three albums out. A Perfect Circle Love Maynard's vocals. My vote for Best Website on the Internet. Requires Flash. Todd Rundgren The reason I went from classical piano to synthesizer. I first discovered Todd with his "Utopia" album. It still sounds good, even though I have listened to it several million times. OK, not the one album, I recently bought the CD. A very prolific music career. Many albums to his credit, all different in style. Tangerine Dream Their album "Underwater Sunlight" was playing on someone's boombox, while I slept on a Ferry (that's a boat) to Kodiak Island, Alaska. My friend Glenn (noted as badmofkr above) and I were going there to photograph Kodiak Bears. Listening to this album while sleeping, it became permanently embedded in my subconscious mind somehow. Glenn heard it too, and being the alert guy that he is, asked the guy with the boombox what was playing. We both went out and bought copies of it when we returned to the lower 48 states. I love that album. It lives inside me somehow. Zappa Long live Frank Zappa. I wish they'd release "Baby Snakes" on DVD. Elephant Talk The Website of King Crimson. I have always been a follower of Fripp and company. I try to catch them in concert every year when their tour comes close by. The artistic quality of the band only seems to improve with the years. Special Thanks Anfy Java™ many thanks to Fabio Ciucci for his incredible Java™ scripting.
